Miss World South Africa 2019 Crowned


Sasha-Lee Olivier, 26, from Alberton In Johannesburg will represent South Africa in London at this year’s Miss World festival and final in December.

Sasha-Lee is currently studying a double major in marketing and psychology at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) and at the same time working on promoting her own business as a young entrepreneur.


On hearing she would represent her country, she said: "I'm so excited to go to Miss World this year and have the opportunity to showcase my ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ project, it's something that's so close to my heart. This has always been a lifelong dream, and it's just a surreal moment to have your dreams become a reality."

South Africa has three contestants that have worn the famous blue Miss World crown. Penelope Anne Coelenin 1958, Anneline Kriel in 1974 and then Rolene Strauss in 2014, the last time the Miss World Final was held in London.

She will now enjoy a year of appearances in her new role and will represent Barbados along with 130 contestants from around the world at the three-week festival and 69th Miss World Final in London.

The highly-anticipated Miss World final show will be broadcast globally to over 150 countries, where global fans can watch reigning Miss World, Vanessa Ponce de León, pass the crown to the 69th Miss World.
