Julia Morley CEO of Miss World at the first sanitary towel machine installation in Tanzania

We arrive in Arusha without our bags. The Miss World team arrives in Arusha in north eastern Tanzania, but all the luggage was delayed en route, so they had to rely on local people to provide emergency clothing!

Reigning Miss World, Vanessa Ponce De León said: “I am so glad we lost our luggage, I just love all the colours in the Tanzanian designs.”

Julia Morley, Chairman and CEO joined the praise for the local designers saying: “I have asked them if I can buy several more dresses to take home.”

The luggage mishap occurred after a three-hour delay to the flight from London caused the baggage to miss its connection in Doha.

“We were so late that we had to run between flights and we only just made it to the next plane. But I guess our luggage didn’t,” concluded Vanessa.
