Miss World meets iconic British fashion designer Zandra Rhodes

Last night reigning Miss World, Vanessa De Ponce León, arrived in London to celebrate the launch of designer Zandra Rhodes retrospective at The Fashion and Textile museum.

In celebration of 50 years of Rhodes’s famously quirky designs, the exhibition takes a look back at and showcases her distinctive approach to fashion.

Vanessa who has long admired Zandra spoke passionately about the event, she said: “I loved seeing her designs up close, they are so colourful and vibrant. Zandra is not just a designer but a true artist, who has no fear of mixing mediums and textures.

“I admire this exhibition because not only does it highlight her successes, but also the failures that have made her the woman she is today. From her humble beginnings as a student sketching flowers on notepads, to becoming one of Britain’s most celebrated female designers.”

Rhodes’s bold and often unconventional approach to style throughout her career quickly gained her a legion of celebrity and royal clients, including the late Princess Diana.

“She can light up even the most crowded room with her signature pink bob and chic style. In a sea of people you can’t miss her, there is truly only one Zandra Rhodes,” concluded Vanessa.
