Miss World Japan 2019 Crowned

On Tuesday 27 August, Marika Sera was crowned Miss World Japan 2019 at the ANA InterContinental.

The 16 year old High School student from Kanagawa, is the youngest winner in history, where she came out on top, out of over 8000 people who applied. She awed the crowd with her elegance far beyond her high school age.

Marika said: "I feel very happy and responsible.

“I would like to do my best with the intention of carrying Japan as a representative of Japan.”

Marika will now enjoy a year of appearances in her new role and will represent Japan along with 130 contestants from around the world at the three-week festival and 69th Miss World Final.

The highly-anticipated Miss World final show will be broadcast globally to over 150 countries, where global fans can watch reigning Miss World, Vanessa Ponce de León, pass the crown to the 69th Miss World.
