Miss World Colombia 2019 Crowned


Sara Arteago Franco took over the Miss World Colombia reign from her predecessor,  Laura Osorio, on 11th August 2019.  The glistening finale was held at Auditorio Hall 74 in Bogotá. Twenty five contestants, from across Colombia competed for the prestigious title.


Angelopedia reporter, Gayatri Poswal describes the contest, "Sara performed outstandingly and won the title with grace. All the beauties dazzled in their gleaming evening gowns and the coronation night witnessed various exemplary performances."

The contestants have been active in the community, in the months leading up to the final show. They entertained the children of the Fundación Homi Paediatric Hospital Foundation, which is part of the Miss World Colombia campaign 'Giving Away Smiles'. The contestants performed a vibrant talent show for all the patients.


Furthermore, every candidate presented a Beauty With A Purpose project at Colombia's Sergio Arboleda University.

In recognition of outstanding community work, the council of Bogota awarded a certificate to every Miss World Colombia contestant. The council of Bogota posted this statement on social media, "The council of Bogota considers the Miss Colombia contest as a local event that spreads, disseminates and promotes tourism and gives impetus to the trade of the capital."

Sara Franco is 25 years old and represented the city of Medellín. She is a fashion designer and model and thoroughly enjoys painting. Sara will now enjoy a year of appearances in her new role and will represent Colombia, along with 130 contestants from around the world, at the three-week festival and 69th Miss World Final.


The highly-anticipated Miss World final show will be broadcast globally to over 150 countries, where global fans can watch reigning Miss World, Vanessa Ponce de León, pass the crown to the 69th Miss World.
