Miss World Aruba 2019 Crowned


Ghislaine Mejia succeeds Nurianne Arias Helder, as Miss World Aruba 2019. The crowning ceremony took place on 10th August in the Regency Ballroom of the Hyatt Aruba Resort.

The Miss Aruba Organisation meticulously selected five finalists for their contest, out of applications from across the island. Pageant Circle described the contestants as "beautiful, eloquent, intellectual and active in the community ladies." Angelopedia journalist, Gayatri Poswal reports that the pageant was well organised, "witnessed various stellar performances and glamour all around."


After the coronation, Nurianne posted on social media,

“Yesterday I crowned my successor for Miss World 2019. I present to you, Ghislaine Mejia. Ghislaine, I will always be by your side for support and guidance. You can count on me. We are now officially part of the Miss World sisterhood.”

Ghislaine is a student at the University of Aruba's faculty of finance, accounting and marketing. She will now enjoy a year of appearances in her new role and will represent Aruba, along with 130 contestants from around the world, at the three-week festival and 69th Miss World Final.

The highly-anticipated Miss World final show will be broadcast globally to over 150 countries, where global fans can watch reigning Miss World, Vanessa Ponce de León, pass the crown to the 69th Miss World.
