Heads or tails challenge

Miss world , Vanessa Ponce De Leon flew in to the UK for a very special charity cricket match at Newick Cricket Club in East Sussex.

The event saw a Piers Morgan XI take on Newick CC with Piers including in his line up some of the greatest players of the modern game including former England Captain Michael Vaughan -one of England’s most prolific run scorers of all time, Kevin Pietersen and the West Indies and IPL Superstar Chris Gayle.

A large crowd greeted Vanessa as she “tossed the coin” to launch the event.

“This is my first visit to an English village“ said Vanessa- “I would love to live here - it is so beautiful and the people are so kind - thank you Piers Morgan, your fantastic family and the Newick Village community for making us so welcome.
It’s just a shame that Piers lost the toss!”

The Cricket match raised much needed funds for 2 great charities -
1. Headway- supports families who have a loved one suffering from the effects of a serious brain injury.
2. Chailey Heritage Foundation- helps children with neurological motor impairment, such as cerebral palsy, develop independence through powered mobility.
Vanessa commented, "Its been a brilliant experience and I cant wait for next year!"
