Miss World Guyana 2019 Crowned


Joylyn Conway was crowned Miss World Guyana 2019 on 23 June at an elegant event held at the Pegasus International Hotel.


A natural science enthusiast, Joylyn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a minor in Biology from the University of Guyana. She is currently a Lecturer and Lab Instructor attached to the University of Guyana and the New Amsterdam Technical Institute.

Joylyn lives by the quote “it costs nothing to light another candle” hence, her mission is to inspire girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) to embrace their dreams with confidence under her Beauty with a purpose project “Stem Girl Glo”. As well as teaching, dancing, volunteering and coaching young women and children on personal development, she also enjoys traveling trying new foods and putting smiles on frowned faces.


Joylyn will now enjoy a year of appearances in her new role and will represent Guyana along with 130 contestants from around the world at the three-week festival and 69th Miss World Final.

The highly-anticipated Miss World Final show will be broadcast globally to over 100 countries, where global fans can watch reigning Miss World, Vanessa Ponce de León, pass the crown to the 69th Miss World.
