Miss World Nepal 2019 Crowned

Anushka Shrestha was crowned Miss World Nepal 2019 at the grand final broadcast live on NTV and NTV PLUS.

Reigning Miss World Nepal, Shrinkhala Khatiwada was on stage to crown the 23-year old commerce graduate, who hails from the capital city. Anushka is going to have tough footsteps to follow as Shrinkhala finished in the top 12 at the 2018 Miss World Final in China with her ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ project and ‘Multimedia’ video securing first place in both fast track events.

In response to a question from the panel of judges: “If we paid more attention to the responsibilities than rights, would we make the world better?”

Anushka replied: “Rights and responsibilities are the two sides of the same coin. The world would automatically turn out to be beautiful if we fulfil our responsibilities.”

Held in Kirtipur, Kathmandu on Thursday 9 May, it was a big night for the Miss World Nepal pageant as it celebrated its 25th silver jubilee anniversary with a musical performance by singer, Deepak Bajracharya

Anushka will now enjoy a year of appearances in her new role and will represent Nepal, along with 130 contestants from around the world, at the three-week festival and 69th Miss World Final.

The highly-anticipated Miss World final show will be broadcast globally to over 150 countries, where global fans can watch reigning Miss World, Vanessa Ponce de León, pass the crown to the 69th Miss World.
