Miss World Moldova 2019 Crowned

Elizaveta Kuznitova was crowned Miss World Moldova 2019 by her predecessor, Tamara Zareţcaia, in the capital city Chișinău on Thursday 23rd May. Felicia Ursan and Veronica Gojan were awarded First and Second Runner Up titles, respectively. Twenty-eight contestants competed for the title. Canal 3 online news site describes how the contestants “brought elegance, style and refinement on stage. Behind the superb performance, were weeks of intensive training.”

The contestants modelled, in well-choreographed routines, traditional dress, casual, sports, formal and even bridal wear by Rodica Fortuna. Designer Rodica Fortuna was also a member of the jury. She explained what she was looking for as a judge, “I would like to see them open and relaxed on the stage, with a natural style, which is often missing nowadays." Miss World Moldova 2016, Daniela Marin, was also a member of the judging panel. She said, "I like the positive energy and youthfulness of the contest, the smiles and contestants living every moment. In a few years they will look back and say I made history.” The Miss World Moldova Director and judge explains,

“It was very difficult for us to choose from thousands of beautiful girls. What is special is that we have a very good prize - an apartment in Chisinau. Furthermore, every participant will choose at least 4-5 gifts."

Elizaveta won an apartment in Chișinău for her Miss World Moldova tenure. Elizaveta explains that she’s the happiest she’s ever been, "I was very excited but maintained focus and composure to succeed.”

Elizaveta is nineteen years old and represented Tiraspol city. She is a graduate of the Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) programme. FLEX is a competitive, merit-based programme, where students win a scholarship to spend an academic year in a United States high school. Students gain leadership skills, learn about American society and values, and teach Americans about FLEX countries and cultures. FLEX has over 26,300 alumni who have contributed over one million hours of community service in cities and towns across America. Students return home to active alumni networks that carry out inspiring activities.

Elizaveta will now represent her country along with 130 contestants from around the world at the month-long festival and 69th Miss World Final.

The highly-anticipated Miss World final show will be broadcast globally to over 150 countries, where viewers will watch reigning Miss World, Vanessa Ponce de León, pass the crown to her successor.
