Alina Sanko represents Russia

Alina Sanko was crowned Miss World Russia on Saturday 13th April 2019. First and Second Runner Up titles were presented to Arina Verina from Yekaterinburg and Tatarstan representative, Ralina Arabova, respectively.

On her crowning, Alina exclaimed, “I didn’t expect to win and I couldn’t believe it! I thought I might have misheard something! I am infinitely happy!” She also posted on social media that "It’s like being in a fairy tale" and thanked the public for their support.

Alina defeated 50 other competitors at the 27th national final, which was broadcast on Russian TV channel STS. Miss World 2008, from Russia, Ksenia Sukhinova and presenter, Maxim Privalov, hosted the show. The judging panel consisted of renowned professionals and celebrities and included Miss Russia 2006, Tatyana Kotova and Miss Russia 2001, Oksana Fedorova.

“The grand event boasted splendid presentation and stupendous performances. It was a night of fashion and glamour as fifty gorgeous beauties who competed for the title presented themselves on stage… Besides the title and privilege to represent Russia internationally, Alina also walked away with the grand prize of three million Russian Rubles.”

Miss Russia First and Second Runners Up were awarded grants to study at any university in the world. Yakutia’s representative, Vlada Potapova, won the audience vote and the Popular Choice award went to Elena Panovikova from Tobolsk.

Alina Sanko is a 20 year old architecture student and part time model from Azov, Rostov Oblast. She has a professional interest in drawing and painting. Alina has exhibited her art and intends to launch another personal exhibition soon.
