Who turned out the lights?

At precisely 20:30 in Bangkok, Thailand, reigning Miss World Vanessa Ponce de León turned out the lights at the fabulous Banyan Tree Bangkok.

De León said: “It doesn’t matter where you are in the world, Earth Hour gives us all an opportunity to focus on the small changes we can all make to do our bit for the planet.”

Earth Hour is an annual tradition where people switch off their lights to spread awareness about sustainability and climate change. Started by the World Wildlife Fund, it took place this year on 30 March, from 20:30 to 21:30 local time.
